Roots

The Roots Stage (R1), is the first of 3 stages in the R3 Management Plan. The Roots Stage is the vegetative stage of the plant’s lifecycle and focuses on managing the root rhizosphere.

The Rhizosphere is the doorway between the soil and the plant, and is the foundation to ensure the maximum yield potential for annual and perennial crops.

There are 3 critical components during the Roots Stage:

                1. Obtain maximum vigor from your high yielding seed.
                2. Establishing a strong root to shoot ratio to ensure maximum nutrient use efficiency
and prepare the plant for abiotic stresses.
                3. Having optimal nutrient levels (and in the proper ratios) in the plant, during the yield
                    establishment stage.

ATP’s products and plans, target and address the primary driver in limiting yield - Abiotic Stress. Cool, wet soils can cause restricted root zones that limit the uptake of key nutrients during the early season vegetative stage.

Our focus is on seed nutrition, soil nutrition and plant nutrition.  ATP has even taken this to the next level and developed key nutrient “triggers” designed to optimize nutrient efficiency.
